Jeep ADAS — Active Driving Assist Calibration
Not all Jeeps have ADAS — and that's important to understand. Many Wrangler models, especially Sport and base trims, don't have forward-facing cameras. Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and newer Wrangler trims with Advanced Safety Group do require calibration.

What Stellantis Publishes About Jeep Glass Replacement
Jeep's glass guidance comes from FCA US LLC and covers Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and FIAT together. Its language on cameras is deliberately conditional — which fits a lineup where a Wrangler Sport and a Grand Cherokee Summit are genuinely different jobs.
Key Points in the Mopar Glass Replacement Position Statement
- The rule follows the camera: "If your vehicle's windshield is equipped with a forward-facing camera (typically integrated in the rearview mirror assembly), the camera must be recalibrated after the windshield has been installed." That conditional is exactly why the trim has to be confirmed first — no camera, no calibration step.
- The glass carries more than a camera: Stellantis states its glass "works with various advanced driver safety system electrical components, including cameras, rain sensors, antennae and heating elements." A Wrangler with a rain sensor or a heated element in the glass has more riding on the part number than the camera question alone.
- Model-specific adhesives: Stellantis states that its authorized removal and replacement procedures include "the use of advanced adhesives specific to each model," and publishes vehicle-specific procedures at TechAuthority.com. For a vertical windshield, the bonding specification is not a detail to improvise on.
- Coatings and moldings: Authentic Mopar glass is described as carrying coatings for UV protection and in-cabin heat reduction, with attached moldings validated by exposure testing for UV, chemical, temperature, tear and abrasion resistance.
- On "OEE" labelling: Stellantis writes that aftermarket manufacturers may market glass as Original Equipment Equivalent, but that "no supplier is authorized to utilize FCA US LLC tooling, test equipment or Intellectual Property" in developing aftermarket glass.
Stellantis also publishes a scan tool position statement that lists "glass removal and replacement operations" among the conditions that can set diagnostic trouble codes during a repair, and names the forward-facing camera and radar among the systems that must be checked for fault codes. Voltage loss, including a battery disconnect, is on the same list. The specified tool is the Mopar wiTECH tester, used both before and after the repair.
Jeep's Own Answer to the Wrangler Windshield Problem
Jeep took the replacement-frequency problem seriously enough to engineer a part for it. Jeep Performance Parts, Mopar's accessory line, sells a replacement windshield made with Corning Gorilla Glass — the same chemically strengthened glass used in phone screens.

The construction is the interesting part. Rather than making the whole windshield thicker, Mopar thins the inner ply — the chemically strengthened Gorilla Glass layer — and puts the extra material on the outside, where the rocks hit. The figures and fitment above are Mopar's, published in its own announcement of the part.
One thing that announcement does not address: it says nothing about whether the part is offered in camera-bracket or ADAS-equipped variants. Given that some Wranglers and Gladiators carry a forward-facing camera and many do not, that is a VIN question rather than something to assume from the fitment years — check it before ordering.
If you are weighing it up, the trade-off to ask about is availability and lead time for your specific model year against how often you are actually replacing glass. A Wrangler that lives on pavement and a Wrangler that runs beach access roads are not the same case.
