Luxury Vehicle Expertise — Kiawah's Vehicle Mix
Kiawah Island has one of the highest concentrations of luxury vehicles in the Charleston area. We're equipped for the specialty requirements these vehicles demand:
European Luxury
BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche — These vehicles often have heads-up display (HUD), acoustic glass, and multi-sensor ADAS systems. We source OEM and OEM-equivalent glass that maintains these features.
Land Rover / Range Rover
Popular on Kiawah for beach access and island driving. Complex ADAS systems require precise calibration.
Lexus
Lexus Safety System+ calibration. Known for quiet cabins — acoustic glass matching available.
Tesla
Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y — all require acoustic glass and Autopilot calibration.
Luxury vehicles often have the most sophisticated ADAS systems — multiple cameras, radar units, and sensors working together. We bring professional calibration equipment to Kiawah Island. No dealership visit required.
Premium Glass Options
Kiawah Island residents often prefer OEM glass to maintain their vehicle's original specifications. We offer:

What the Standard Actually Requires of an ADAS Calibration
Kiawah's vehicle mix is heavy on cars whose forward cameras sit behind the windshield, which makes the calibration step as consequential as the glass itself. ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS 005-2022, the American National Standard for automotive glass replacement, sets rules around that step which are worth knowing before you hand over the keys.
- A dynamic calibration cannot start early. Section 8.9 permits a dynamic recalibration — the kind performed while the vehicle is driven on the road — only once the adhesive's minimum drive-away time has been achieved. A static calibration, performed on a stationary vehicle in a controlled environment, may only begin according to the guidelines of the manufacturer of the adhesive used on that job.
- The equipment is neither optional nor generic. Section 5.7 requires equipment specifically designed and purposed for recalibration, and requires the procedure to be either OEM-approved or an equivalent procedure assured in writing by the equipment manufacturer.
- You are entitled to the outcome. Section 8.9 requires whoever performs the recalibration to provide the outcome to the vehicle's owner or operator. A calibration with no reported result is not a completed calibration.
- Declining the work is a documented act. If a company will not calibrate, Sections 4.2 and 8.9 require it to advise the owner — prior to and at the completion of the installation — that the vehicle has ADAS, that the vehicle manufacturer requires recalibration after glass replacement, and that the company will not perform it. Section 8.7 requires that notification be kept on record for at least three years.
You do not have to take anyone's word for whether your car needs calibration. I-CAR's OEM Calibration Requirements Search lets you look up a year, make and model and see whether glass removal is an event that triggers a required calibration, where the cameras and sensors are located, and whether special or scan tools are needed. It deliberately does not include the repair procedures themselves — those come from the manufacturer's service information.
Island Conditions: Heat, Humidity, Rain and Salt
The July climate normal at Charleston International Airport is a 91.3°F average high with 6.60 inches of rain — heat and water in the same month. On a mobile installation that is not a footnote. Section 5.4 of ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS 005-2022 requires the adhesive manufacturer's written instructions to include minimum drive-away time charts containing temperature and humidity variables where applicable, plus any special procedures needed for adverse weather. Section 6.1 then requires every installation, in-shop or mobile, to be performed under environmental conditions compatible with those instructions.
The practical version: your safe drive-away time is a figure for that day at that address, not a fixed number on a brochure. It is a fair question to ask on arrival.
Salt is the second half of the island's effect. NASA runs its beachside atmospheric corrosion test site 200 feet from the mean high-tide line; ASM has documented that site as one of the most corrosive naturally occurring environments there is, and NASA attributes the severity to ocean salt spray, heat, humidity and sunlight acting together — with corrosion rates falling as you move inland from the water. That gradient is why the metal channel a windshield bonds to deserves a look on an oceanfront car, and why Section 4.1 of the standard requires a technician who finds a condition that could compromise the retention system to stop and notify the owner in writing rather than bond new glass over it.
